Free Medical Outreach

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT AND MEDICAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME HELD ON THE 26TH OF DECEMBER, 2022 SPONSORED BY IDUMU-OBIOR GLOBAL FOUNDATION FOR EMPOWERMENENT AT IDUMU-OBIOR COMMUNITY TOWN HALL, IDUMU-OBIOR, IGBODO, DELTA STATE.

A Non Governmental Organisation known as Idumu-Obior Global Foundation for Empowerment has been established by a few sons and daughters of Idumu-obior to drive project sponsorship, fundraisers on a global scope to primarily pursue the development of Idumu-Obior community and empowerment of Idumu-obior people, at home and abroad.

In his introductory speech, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Anyasi, speaking through the Alternate Chairman, Mr. Enwelim Victor Iloba reeled out the aims and objectives of the organization as follows:

●To create opportunities for and promote programs aimed at advancing the socio-cultural and economic well being of the people of Idumu-Obior particularly the youths and women (the widows and the needy or less privileged) in the community.

●To encourage and promote the culture and traditions of the people of Idumu-Obior community aimed at raising children of good character and high moral standing in the society.

●To initiate and support initiatives that will improve the standard of living amongst the people of Idumu-Obior particularly in the areas of education, health, security, culture, job creation and recreation.

●To promote peace, unity, love, progress, excellence and good relationship amongst the people of Idumu-Obior community.

●To render financial assistance in the forms of scholarship, apprenticeship, mentorship, skill acquisition as well as entrepreneural training sponsorships and support necessary for the betterment and upliftment of the people of Idumu-Obior community across the globe.

For now we have the following near term plans for several projects such as:
A. Scholarships (Education and Skill acquisition)
B. Solar Street Lighting
C. Entrepreneurship development programmes for women and children.
D. Free health care programmes.

We appeal that everyone eschews rancor and enmity for good health of mind and body.”

He also revealed the NGO’s plan to properly launch sometime in 2023

The initiative was well received by the community members at the well attended programme. Notable among the attendees are the Iyase of Igbodo, Chief Dr. Ifeanyi Unomah who praised the initiators of the project and prayed for resources towards sustainability.

About a hundred members of Idumu-obior community received medical checks and counselling as well as drugs from qualified medical personnel who were on hand to oversee the medical outreach.
